One of my customers who I did some ivy leaf jewellery for her wedding has her wedding featured in Wedding Flowers Magazine this month, which shows photos of the jewellery. How exciting!

Merry Christmas

Well it's been a hectic two months, but I'm all finished now for Christmas and a long awaited break!

I thought I'd post a couple of pics of the craft fair I did at the end of November in Maidstone. It was a good morning and we were really lucky with the weather because it had done nothing but rain around that time, but the sun shone all morning it was rather windy though and I had to keep hanging on to everything!

It's been a while since I've had a chance to blog, as there’s been a load to do, but I thought I'd post a quick update.

I've brought a Spiraea plant which I plan to bring indoors when it gets frosty, hopefully it won't loose its leaves so quickly as the ones out the garden. Must remember to water it though!

I've still been trying to find the time to make the ivy necklace I posted about earlier. Thi...

I was sitting at the computer earlier waiting for it to do something and looked out the window, the sun was just starting to set and I thought what a lovely picture that would make. So just had to go outside with my camera...

I don't know how I manage to get such a cluttered work area. I wish I could be tidier but it doesn't matter how hard I try to clear up as I go, I always end up working in a tiny area with piles of clutter around me!

Oak Leaves

Well autumn is here and it's a time when I start to panic a bit about the leaves falling from the trees and leaving bare branches! So I've been busy collecting oak leaves to press to keep me going through the winter. I'll also make a stash of silver leaves, these are some tiny oak leaf and amber earrings I've made to match my Oak and Amber Pendant.

New Ivy Necklace Design

This is a sneaky peek of a new design I'm working on for an ivy leaf necklace, excuse the drawing - not my strong point! I'm excited about this new design, as it will be worn fairly long and the necklace will be entirely handmade from silver rings and ivy leaves.

The necklace was inspired by the way ivy climbs walls in a random way, all varying in sizes.

I'll post a pic when it's done....

Patina

A few customers have asked me how I get the black patina finish on some of my jewellery, so as I have been doing some today I thought I would record how I did it to show you.

This is the chemical I use, it's called Liver of Sulphur and it smells like rotten eggs, so you need to do it somewhere well ventilated! It comes in hard lump form or liquid.

First I need to clean the silver with washing up liquid to get rid of any grease....

Well I've decided to move my blog over here to the same place as my website, to keep everything together and hopefully improve my google ranking!

Hopefully everyone that already does read my blog will continue to do so.

I've been out and about with my camera this week getting some ideas for new designs, so I thought I'd share some of the pics I took with you.
